Globally, gender-based violence is a widespread issue that influences millions of individuals every day. Annually on Friday, November 25, the Global Day on the Complete Abolition for Assault Towards Women begins a 16-day campaign to completely eliminate violence against women based on gender.  Violence based on gender (GBV) appears within all community and comes in multiple forms. We are bound by an ethical responsibility to ensure a stop to every possible kinds of assault directed towards female lead as an infraction of fundamental rights. In times of trouble, either combat or catastrophic events, the probability of gender-based violence rises, as does our collective responsibility to take action to stop gender-based harassment or speak for the necessities of females once it strikes.  The specters of gender-based violence expand enormously in Pakistan, a nation with a proud past and culture, casting an awful shadow over the lives of many women. Every form of violence based on gender predominantly impact women and girls. This blog examines the causes, indications impacts, and answers to this severe issue throughout Pakistan.

GBV, also known as gender-based violence, is a generic term encompassing violent actions taken beyond the victim's freewill and formed in an authoritative disparity involving male and female. This holds well regardless of violent and non-conflict situations. Violence against women, killings for honor, sexual misconduct, adolescents marriages, and trafficking are a number of instances of gender-based violence in Pakistan.   • Traditional customs and ideologies often encourage masculinity while dropping women to submissive positions within the household and solidarity.

  • Established ordinances, like the Defense of Women Opposition to Abuse legislation, should be tightened and implemented with the aim to hold criminals guilty.
  • Gendered courses in educational institutions can help to break down presumptions, modify mindsets, and encourage equality between men and women.
